| General technology, the newest subject of the new curriculum, has undertaken themission to improve the students’ technology appreciation since the new curriculumreform started in2005. The instructional objectives of general technology is todevelop the students’ understanding in the thought of technology, the application oftechnical means and their experience in technical culture instead of trainingdesigners, artists, or senior technicians.The general technology course is supposed to help the students to become the usersand lovers of technology. However, in the teaching process, the teachers’ lack ofteaching experience, practical technology ability and precise understanding aboutthe new curriculum idea leads to a lot of problems. The general technology coursehas become a mere formality, which influences the teaching effect. Therefore, howto improve the effective teaching in class has become a problem crying out forsolutions. During the teaching process of general technology, do the students reallyunderstand the thought of technology? Do the students really master the use oftechnical means? Do the students really think about the culture of technology ontheir own? All these require that the teachers conduct research on the classroomteaching of general technology course and adopt scientific and effective methods tohelp every student make progress in each lesson.
