Some students in high school don’t have much interest in learningmathematics; what’s more, analytic geometry is one of the difficulties in thehigh school mathematics, so students have more difficulty in learning it. Withthe implementation of the new curriculum standard, new requirements are putforward. In order to carry out the teaching of analytic geometry and cultivatethe ability to analyze and solve the problems of analytic geometry, theteachers can apply geometry sketchpad to mathematics teaching, which is ahelpful supplement to the traditional teaching model.Geometry sketchpad is beneficial to analytic geometry teaching, and isclosely related to four attributes, namely,"situation","cooperation","conversation" and "meaning construction" referred to in the constructivismlearning theory. Geometry sketchpad happens to coincide with thecombination of the abstractness and concreteness mentioned in the middleschool mathematics teaching basic principles and the principle of thecombination of numbers and forms. Based on the reality of analytic geometryteaching, according to the characteristics of the students’ cognition, the authorexplores the application of geometry sketchpad in analytic geometry teachingto gain better and more efficient teaching models.This paper is divided into five parts. Chapter One is introduction, mainlyincluding the origin of the topic, the purpose and significance of the research,the current situation of the domestic and international research, themethodology, the research contents and the innovative points. Chapter Two isto explain the geometry sketchpad and the related theory of teaching reading,including the function, the characteristics and the theoretical basis of theapplication of geometry sketchpad in mathematics in high school. ChapterThree is to discuss how to create teaching situation,and the necessity of usinggeometry sketchpad in analytic geometry in creating teaching situation,andthe advantages of using geometry sketchpad to create teaching situation toprinciples and strategies, and there is a case of create teaching situation andthe feeling, the analysis of the case. Chapter Four is to use geometricsketchpad in analytic geometry experiments, including the definition of theconcept of mathematics experiment in analytic geometry, the significance,principles, implementation and cases. Chapter Five is to summarize the whole text. It concludes what the study has obtained,the guidance to analyticgeometry teaching, but there are still a lot of disadvantages, which points outthe direction for further research.
