Since China joined the WTO, the Chinese textile industry has met unprecedented opportunities and developing moments. It is facing a major historical opportunity of transformation into a powerful nation of textile and apparel. At the same time, higher vocational education is advocated by our national policies and laws. FZ with its textile industry background is facing many opportunities and challenges.This article formulate the overall strategic objectives through analyzing the extern al environment and internal environment of FZ, applying the Michael Porter s Five F orces Model and the SWOT Analysis, finding the opportunities and threats, the existi ng advantages and disadvantages of FZ colleges and universities. FZ colleges and uni versities should aim to the social needs of the textile and related industries, correspo nd with the actual development of regional economy, and improve the school level p ractically as well as emphasizing the comprehensive qualities cultivation of students t o provide a large number of high qualified skilled talents to the society. In order to guarantee the implement of the overall strategy, this article raises functional strategies of brand management, enrollment management, campus culture construction, employ ment administration and other relevant things.After more than70years’ progress, FZ’s development has already been recorded in the developing process of Chinese higher vocational colleges and universities as a model senior school of vocation and a national mainstay development organization. But in recent years, FZ has a relatively slower developing pace than other colleges a nd universities. It is more because of the self-management’s insufficiency. If FZ can value and use the advanced technology and scientific management, we’ll have our r eason to firmly believe that FZ will go better and further from a new historical start ing point of the Twelve-Five Planning. The strategies which raised in this article can also be consulted by other colleges and universities which are similar to FZ.
