Social Work Methods In The Application Of Parental Education

The term "qin zhi jiao yu" is translated from "Parental Education". It is a processmeans to assist parents or prospective parents in understanding their duties, to support theknowledge about the development of child and the youth, and the right attitude towardseducation to play competent parents. In short, it is a kind of education teaching people howto be successful parents. With the changes of the times, the increase of the pressure of lifeand the change of concepts, dual-earner families growing and become mainstream, divorce,single-parent, decreasing in the number of children all makes the current structure offamily more diversified. Also because of the "one-child policy" and the idea of parents donot want their children to inherit their once hard, parents love their children more and paymore attention to children’s education. All above factors make the traditional educationalmodel has been a great shock, how to be good parents, how to communicate with theirchildren effectively, how to discipline children positively, how to enhance the learningability and social skills of children, has become a problem in front of parents andprospective parents. Social work as a kind of work, helping to solve problems encounteredby human and society, it also concerned about the parental education needs of the clients,and attempts to start the intervention.In this paper, parental education, social work and other related concepts are analyzedby the method of literature review; the advantages of the intervention of social workmethod are analyzed from the theoretical foundation, ethical values and working skills; abrief introduction about a social service organization be done, the audience, idea, method,process in practical cases on parental education done by the author through case work,group work and community work during internship in that organization be shown, analyzed and evaluated, discussing the applicability of social work method on parentaleducation.
