Belief is people’s choice and hold of the outlook on life, values andworld view, is a kind of highest level of belief. It embodies the humanultimate concern to the world and life. It is condensed and orientationto the society and life. Belief education is all the education activitiesthat help and guide the people’s belief formation, consolidation orchange. The spiritual guidance function of belief education can makepeople establish scientific ideal, belief, and faith and form the correctvalues, outlook on life and world outlook. It can make people pursue ahigher goal in life, the pursuit of the perfection of life and the pursuitof human harmony. Contemporary college students are successors ofsocialist cause. The young college students’ faith plays an importantguiding role in their own growth spirit and the development of thecause of socialism with Chinese characteristics. So the attention onyoung college students beliefs present situation and the developmentof the belief education activities in college and universities, makecontemporary college students to establish correct and scientificbelief, to help college students shaping health belief system, to helpcollege students healthy growth and success, all these play animportant role in the moral education work of universities and the development of the socialist cause.This paper based on combining theory with practice and figuredout on the basis of the concept of college students’ beliefs and theresearch necessity of faith education from concept to obtain; fromcollege students’ belief to the question of college students’ beliefeducation is expounded, and then puts forward the detailedcountermeasures to solve the problem. This paper follows the logicalrelationship that from concept to system and from the problem toanalyzes to launch the analysis research.Surrounding the above content, this article altogether is dividedinto four parts. First, this paper determines the connotation, types andfunctions of faith and identifies the belief and belief education;secondly, according to two typical survey, it analyzes the currentstatus of college students’ beliefs and faith reasons; thirdly, aftercomprehensive research, it summarizes the objective problemsexisting in the contemporary college students belief education,analyzes the causes of these problems, and puts forward the solutionfrom reality further; finally, it summarizes the theoretical andpractical significance of the research of belief and belief education ofcontemporary university students. Based on the detailed analysis ofbelief and belief education of contemporary college students, thispaper’s innovation point is combined with the new university spirit tostrengthen college students’ self education and the combination ofcollege, family and society.
