The Study Of The Career Decision-making Difficulties Of College Students Under The View Of Intolerance Of Uncertainty

Uncertainty is the experience that individuals suffered frequently, and thelargest Uncertainty often happened when we were making the vital decisions, suchas choosing the spouse、buying the house and Career decision-making. From theconnotation of Career decision-making, we found that the process of Careerdecision-making itself contained so much Uncertainty that wound arose usUncertainty, So this study proposed the hypothesis that Intolerance of Uncertaintyhad immediate impact on Career decision-making difficulties.To explore therelationship of Intolerance of Uncertainty and Career decision-making difficulties, thisresearch did two studies. The study one selected four hundred and sixty six subjectsfrom four universities in shanghai, and explored the basic state of Intolerance ofUncertainty and Career decision-making difficulties; based on the study one, thestudy two selected fifteen subjects per high and low scores of Intolerance ofUncertainty, and used the situational experiment probing the Career decision-makingdifficulties of college students under the situation of Uncertainty. The results of twostudies all confirmed the hypothesis, and got the following conclusions:（1）Intolerance of Uncertainty is positively related to Career decision-makingdifficulties,and the higher score of Intolerance of Uncertainty, the more difficulty ofCareer decision-making.（2）Career decision-making difficulties has no significant difference indemographic variables of the gender and major, but significant difference in sourceregion, and the student from countryside has more difficulty than the student fromcity.（3）Intolerance of Uncertainty has no significant difference in demographicvariables of the gender、major and source region.（4）Intolerance of Uncertainty has Positive effect on Career decision-makingdifficulties, and the higher score of Intolerance of Uncertainty, the more difficultyof Career decision-making. （5）Intolerance of Uncertainty has Positive effect on the level of Uncertainty,and the higher score of Intolerance of Uncertainty, the higher level of Uncertainty.
