A Research On The Present Situation And Countermeasures Of Higher Education Structure In Gansu Province

Reasonable higher education structure system is the inner damand for the healthy and orderly development of higher education in a nation and region, and it is also the inevitable requirement of the economy and social development, and the research on the higher education structure system is a topic with theoretical and practical significance. To analyze the current situation of higher education structure system in Gansu, to find the problems and propose the maeasures has great significance to ensuring the orderly development of higher education in Gansu, giving full play to the higher education function, developing the economy, society, culture, and science, and ensuring Gansu realize the strategic objective of province with industry and talents.Based on combing the related literature about higher education structure, the author makes the statistic analysis on the current situation of higher education structure in Gansu from six aspects:the school system structure, layout structure, hierarchy, formal structure and undergraduate professional structure, find out that it not only attains great achievement, but also exist some problem. The achievements are the following aspects:public and private higher education in Gansu has greatly been developed; higher Education in Lanzhou, Longdong, Tianshui and Hexi area as the main layout structure system is further formed and developed; the scale of running school increasingly expends, the proportion of high-level personnel gradually improves; adult higher education and continuing education achieve the further reform and development; the undergraduate professional structural adjustment made new progress, etc. The main problems are the following aspects:the slow development of private higher education; incompatible layout of the structure and level of economic development; disjointed structure of talents training and industrial structure, employment structure, etc. lower overall level of development of higher vocational education; adult higher education development deviate from the normal track; less characteristic and advantageous profession in colleges and universities, and professional aging prominent, and repeatedly constructed professions, and so on.Finally, aimed at the problems, the author proposes the following measures to optimize the higher education struucture in Gansu province:Firstly, to perfect the school system structure with the core of promoting the development of private higher education; Secondly, according to the level of regional development to coordinate the layout structure of higher education, including the focus on the construction of a number of high-level university, gradually to enhance colleges and universities layout and regional economic development, and the adaptation of population distribution. Thirdly, to establish the hierarchy structure adapting to the economic and social development. Fourthly, to propel the diversification of higher education and promote the integrated development of adult education and general higher education, and to build platform sharing public resources for life-long learning. Fifthly, through the unification of the three forces of government, colleges and universities, society, and strive to build a resonalbe undergraduate professional sructure system with reasonable structure, and distinstic features adapting to the economic and social development in Gansu province.
