Knowledge transfer is the core issue in knowledge management. But how to organize, transfer and use of knowledge is still a challenge. Many organizations have found that technology is not enough. Currently, developing communities of practice becomes the key of knowledge strategy. The community of practice is essentially a social network of individuals and their relationships, knowledge transfer activities are embedded in social networks, showing the transfer characteristics of the network interactive. The social network theory provides a new perspective on Communities of practice knowledge transfer research, Therefore, the paper takes communities of practice as the research object, starting from the social network perspective, study of communities of practice knowledge transfer mechanisms.Through theoretical research, modeling, case studies, social network analysis and a series of research methods, the paper analyze the knowledge transfer process in the c ommunities of practice and influencing factors. First of all, from a social exchange th eory, explains the emergence and development of communities of practice, analysis of the internal structure of the community. Secondly, proposed general process of comm unities of practice knowledge transfer based on the SCEI model. On this basis, the pa per starting from the perspective of social networks to establish the knowledge transfer process model, analyzes the influencing factors of knowledge transfer network perspe ctive. Finally, the paper make an empirical analysis of communities of practice compo sed of a research team with the social network analysis software UCINET, further val idate the previously proposed theoretical analysis, and gives recommendations for opti mizing the network structure of communities of practice. Expect of tissue to culture c ommunities of practice, provide a valuable reference to facilitate knowledge transfer, make organizations more operational in the knowledge management.
