The Study Of Mechanism Of The Impact Of Social Networks On Individuals' Knowledge Transfer

With the arrival of the era of knowledge economy, knowledge has become an important strategic competitive weapons. Knowledge is not only helping to improve organizational performance, but also used against competitors to achieve the strategic objectives of the important strategic core resources. Knowledge will play a more important role than physical capital (Peter Drucker). In the era of knowledge economy, making knowledge management is becoming the new era of an unavoidable issue, and gradually becomes a new modern enterprise management mode.Knowledge management is a key element of business success in the era of knowledge economy. Innovation and knowledge sharing are important sources of competitive advantage. The problem of the company is how to make knowledge transfered inside the company more speedly and more effcientlgy, then promote the sharing of knowledge and thereby speed up the innovation of knowledge. That's the urgent thing the enterprises need to solve. According to the new social and economic theories, any economic behavior is embedded in the social network. Social network with good interaction, rapid propagation velocity has good knowledge dissemination functions. Especially in the personal level, social network has become an important medium in transfer of tacit knowledge. Research shows that tacit knowledge is the main enterprise knowledge (Wang Juan RU, 2004). Its acquisition, transfer and effective integration are core competitiveness of enterprises (Dorothy & Sylvia, 1998) .This paper focuses on the social network which emdeded in the peoples' knowledge network and how the social network influenced the transfer of knowledge from a personal level. After that, the paper attempts to do an empirical study on the mechanism how the social network influenced the transfer of knowledge. Major research issues are: (1) how the characteristics of the network affect the transfer of knowledge; (2) whether different kind of relationship of network could affect knowledge transfer differently or not; (3) whether the characteristics of knowledge can modulate the relationship between knowledge transfer and social network elements.
