Our country’s new curriculum reform promotes the developmental evaluationand lays emphasis on discovering and developing a wide range of students’ potentialto help students understand themselves and build self-confidence. Setting up aevaluation system that can promote the all-round development of all students.Incentive evaluation is an important part of the system. It can creat a relaxed andharmonious atmosphere, mobilizing students’ enthusiasm in Englishing learning inHigh Grades of Elementary Schools, so it has been widely used in the process ofEnglish teaching.However, there are still many problems in the actual teaching. In this study, Iread much relevant domestic and foreign information and took two elementaryschools in FeiCheng city Shan Dong province as the investigation object. Byclassroom observation, questionnaire investigation and physical analysis, I found theproblems of Incentive evaluation in English teaching in High Grades of ElementarySchools mainly expressed as the follows, the mode is not rich, the language is notspecific, the point is not fair,the content is not comprehensive, the praise is excessivewhile the criticism is lack and so on. After analysis and discussion on those problems,the study puts forward the principles that should follow in carrying out Incentiveevaluation, mainly including the pinciple of factuality, Comprehensive, all, specific,moderation, artistry. In order to improve the Application effect, And some moresuggestions are put forward, including loving students, Createing a friendlyatmosphere, enriching the mode of evaluation, diversifying the content of evaluation,paying more attention to slow students, enhancing the teachers’ attainment, handlingthe praise and criticism properly and so on.
