The Moral Education Function Of College Students Volunteer Service Activities

How to educate a university student has always been the primary issue in the course of personnel educating for all the universities. College students are in the period with changing international situation and domestic social ehange. The ideal and belief value orientation, moral conseiousness of eollege student has received great impaet, and it’s brought huge challenge to ideologieal and politieal education of college students. Under such circumstances, how to improve the students’ideological and moral qualities and how to make them play a new role in the construction of socialist spiritual civilization has become an important practical problem in the college moral education. The volunteer service activities with "dedication, friendship, mutual help, progress" as the core, it conformed to China’s social transformation in the new century, the trend of system transformation and values change. It adapted to young college students’subject awareness and participation awareness in the growing trend.It foourished in colleges and universities,become a very important cultural phenomenon in colleges and universities. Practice has proved that students’ volunteer activities conformed the aim of moral education in universities, is an effective way to build a harmonious socialist society. And it is an important carrier and innovative forms of the moral education of college student. Therefore,it has great significance in students’ volunteer activities’ moral function.Firstly, this article described the student volunteer service and moral education in universities of these two aspects. Clear the relationship between voluntary service and moral education. It pointed out that not only voluntary service on the dynamic role of moral education, at the same time moral education in universities provided voluntary service activities with theoretical support and thinking of protection. Secondly, from the two aspects of the problems of moral education in universities and the optimization of the student volunteer service activities on moral education described the necessity and feasibility study of the student volunteer service of moral functions. From the two aspects of social function and individual function systematic and comprehensive discussion of the moral function of voluntary service activities. And from four perspectives for a better play to the volunteer activities of moral function provide countermeasures. They are updating the notion of moral education, extending the moral content of the student volunteer service activities, strengthening of self-education of university students as well as improving the voluntary organizations self-construction.Hope that this study can provide some theoretical support for the development of activities of student volunteer service, provide a new perspective for moral education in universities, provide some effective methods of reference for palying to the volunteer activities of moral function.
