Abstract/Summary:
In the background of diverse social culture, in order to strengthen the collegestudents’ ability to resist bad ideas, college should strengthen the moral education ofstudents and improve the actual effect of moral education. Moral education is a unifiedprocess of including four parts of knowledge, sensation, consciousness and conduct. Thetraditional college moral education relies mainly on moral education classroom, ignoresthe other means of moral education, leading that the moral education effect is not good.Therefore, we need to seek other ways of moral education outside the classroom toimprove the actual effect of moral education in universities. Campus culture in collegesand universities is a useful supplement for the classroom of moral education, it is animportant way for the college moral education, which plays a significant role on theformation of college students’ ideological and moral.Although our country’s campus development has gone through a long history, theconcept of “campus culture” began formally appear until1980. Campus culture is a kindof culture of community which relies on campus environment, takes campus spiritualculture as the soul and takes extra-curricular cultural activities for specific expression form,in which the educated actively participate in social culture for common developmentunder the guidance of educators. Campus culture is not a simple combination of campusenvironment, student organizations and values, but a complete and systematic synthesiswith each element of close contact, mutual influence and restriction,which constitutecampus culture or group culture together. College campus culture is a kind of groupculture which exist in the environment of university, including material culture, spiritualculture, system culture and behavior culture, it is a synthesis of the above four kinds ofculture. From the current laws and regulations to the national tradition, there are manyfactors influence the campus culture, of which the three most important factors are:traditional culture, social culture and political culture. The relative independence ofcampus culture determines that it has four characteristics of technicality, creativity,advancement and guidance. Campus culture has a covert effect on values and ideologies ofcollege students by means of psychological mechanism including hint, heart infection,acknowledgment (self-identity) and conformity, which exerts subtly in a potential way onthe college students. The campus culture’s function to college students is concretelymanifested as followings: college students’ value orientation, improvement of personality and qualities and cultivation of moral sentiment, behavior incentives and moral constraints.Beyond that, there are some problems existing in the process of campus culture’s role onmoral education. The imbalance between material culture construction and spiritualculture construction, and conflict between the traditional culture and modern concepts arethe two prominent problems. The reasons for theses problems are mainly caused by theimpact from international economic situation and social culture, as well as thecontradiction between the moral education and the needs of students, the ignorance ofstudent’s subjective status and the low level of campus culture activities. Finally, thisthesis proposes the countermeasures of campus culture’s moral function full role-play,which need people take Marxism as the guiding ideology. There are three principle shouldstrictly followed: combination of absorption and transcendence, comprehensivelypromotion and the key breakthroughs as well as the combination of dominance andsubjectivity. Besides, campus culture can play its role of moral education comprehensivelyin four main routes: creating a healthy atmosphere of campus spiritual culture, building arich cultural campus material environment, scientifically managing campus culturalconstruction and strengthening the construction of campus behavioral culture.In short, campus culture is the important carrier which can not be ignored and thesignificant approach to the moral education in campus, which is also an essential aspect oftraining mode of the talents in new era which can not be omitted. At the same time, itchanges the ways and means of moral education working in universities in order toimprove the effectiveness of education and promote the achievement of education goal.Campus culture is conductive to guiding the correct political orientation of students,promoting cultural qualities and professional skills, cultivating a high sense of moralityand purification of the mind, shaping the personalities and establishing correct outlooks onworld, life and value.
