As the increase in international competition today, China is now in urgent need of all-round development of high-quality talent not only in social and economic development but also in the construction of spiritual civilization. For this reason, primary and secondary schools are now paying more and more attention to improving overall quality of the students. Quality-oriented education is now setting in an unprecedented height. The society need to cultivate all-round developed talent and highly qualified personnel, especially those who have a sense of innovation and creativity. Therefore, quality-oriented education has become a long-term task.In china, our definition of quality-oriented education is to enable students to get a comprehensive development in intellectual, moral, aesthetic, physical and labor. Music is an important aspect of aesthetic education; therefore, the increase in student’s musical ability is a crucial aspect of enhancing quality-oriented education. Music education plays an important role in cultivating all-round development talent, particularly, has a special influence on the early childhood education. In recent years, more and more schools and families are making the musical ability training of the pupils an important part of quality-oriented education.Modern scientific research shows that childhood musical learning, which links closely with the child’s intelligence, character, and aesthetic ability, has a vital key role in his life. However, in a circumstance of examination-oriented education, education in music ability is still facing many problems.Based on the disciplines of education, psychology and music education, this thesis expounds the basic principles of quality education and music education, the importance of music education in the elementary school and also analyzes factors affecting musical quality in primary schools.According to the basic elements of music quality and the characteristic of the primary school age, this paper, taking Dongguan city for example, investigates about ten primary schools and several music training institutions on how much the pupils know about music and what the primary schools do to enhance music quality education. With the knowledge of pupil’s attitude towards music, their listening ability on music and the ability of memory, combining with the results of interviews with music managers and teachers, the author analyzes primary school music education situation in Dongguan area, based on which, the author summarizes the problems now existing in Dongguan’s music education and put forward the corresponding countermeasures. Those countermeasures include how to teach students according to their aptitude; how to effectively enhance the primary school music education aiming at aesthetic ability, musicianship, and innovation ability; how to combine music education curriculum construction with practice of music and so on. |
