Language is a tool for communication. With the fast economic development in China,Spoken English language teaching is drawing more and more attention and becoming moreand more important.The ultimate objective of learning English is to communicate. Thus, toimprove students’ oral English proficiency is one of the most important aims. How to improvethe quality of oral English teaching has become an imperative problem for Chinese educatorsto solve.So the author manages to explore the effective way to successful spoken Englishteaching from the perspective of methodology. From a macro aspect, it refers to applyingKrashen’s acquisition theory, input and output theory, and constructivism theory to theteaching of spoken English. From a micro aspect, it explores how the three factors of student,teacher and environment influence junior middle school students’ oral communicativecompetence and then advances some basic principles for guiding oral English teaching. Thepaper elaborates on how to conduct the teaching strategies of pre-class preparation, courselead-in, classroom interaction, context creating, learning autonomy, cultural lead-in,monitoring and feedback, providing teachers with pertinent and relevant oral English teachingmethods and skills.
