The study of mathematics textbooks and integrating information technology intomathematics education are the two hot topics of the current mathematics educationresearch. However, there are fewer studies of the comparison on using technology. Thispaper selects one of the representative senior high school mathematics textbooks betweenChina and the USA as the research object. Through establishing the analytical frameworkas "technological tools, presentation, content, application form" and refining it, we gatherstatistics on the use of technology in these textbooks. This paper mainly uses textcomparison methods. Then, on the basis of statistics of the technology using in the USAand Chinese mathematics textbooks, we make quantitative and qualitative analysis. The study shows that there are great differences on technology using in senior highschool math textbooks between China and the USA. For American textbooks, technological tools are calculator and Internet, presentation is almost aside, and mainlyused in exercises. For Chinese textbooks, technological tools are calculator, computerand something else, presentation is more fusion, and the proportion of exercises andexpanding is large. On the level of technology use, American textbooks have only level1and level2, level1takes up nearly2/3. Chinese textbooks have the three kinds of levels,level1accounts for about half. These differences are mainly determined by the different theories of integratinginformation technology into mathematics education between Chinese and the USA.American educational ideas is to encourage students to experience mathematics, so thenetwork resources for self-learning are rich. In China, we advocate “leading-subject”mode, emphasis on the teaching of “two basis”, students feel the charm of the technologymainly by the teachers’ demonstration. American textbooks focus on students’ practical skills, reasoning skills are weak, Chinese textbooks just opposite. To show thecomparative perspective of the technology using, this paper also give the comparisonabout the trigonometric content between the two different textbooks. At last, this papergives some suggests.
