The Analysis Of Patriotic Education In Globalization

With the rapid development of IT as well as the strengthening of the trend ofworld economic integration, the globalization is becoming inevitable. Theglobalization, which is not restricted by the time or space, exerted a profound impactupon the world’s politics, economics and cultures. Globalization not only promotesthe development of society and sharing of civilizations, but also brings unprecedentedchallenges to countries. Globalization brings severe challenges to the nationalsovereignty, security and culture. Therefore, patriotic education is inevitably affectedby the impact of globalization. We must have a comprehensive understanding of thechallenges of globalization on patriotic education and exploring the new strategy ofthe patriotic education under the background of globalization.This paper is divided into four parts to discuss the patriotic education inglobalization:Part Ⅰ: In this part, the research background and significance are expatiated.The research statuses at home and abroad are summarized. The research ideas andmethods are introduced. And the concepts of globalization, patriotism, patrioticeducation are defined.Part Ⅱ: The importance of patriotic education in globalization is expatiated.Patriotic education under the background of globalization is conductive to theguidance of rational patriotism by training patriotic feelings of the citizens andguiding patriotic words and deeds. It is conductive to the development of the nationalculture by inheriting and innovating of national culture. It is conductive to thecultivation of qualified citizens by disseminating civic knowledge and improving thequality of civic virtue.Part Ⅲ: The challenge of globalization on patriotic education is analyzed. Underthe background of globalization, the tendency of human’s related interests, utilitarianvalue orientation, what is more, the irrational nationalism impact the goal of patrioticeducation, such as nationality, transcendences and times. The global governance, global risk and cultural expansion corrode the contents of patriotic education, such asthe concept of national sovereignty, the concept of security of state and nationalculture. The expansion of communication in areas, development of networktechnology and the ideological concealment challenge the ranges, means and methodsof patriotic education.Part Ⅳ: Patriotic education strategy in globalization is explored. Carrying out thepatriotic education at the background of globalization must do the following aspects.The goal of patriotic education under the background of globalization must beclarified. It must to cultivate citizens′sense of national identity, sense of nationalresponsibility and international mind.
