There is a common phenomenon for a long term:a big difference in mathematics achievement happens on many high school students since they enter the high school. Especially the differences in mathematics learning performance between boys and girls are becoming more and more obvious, which have been confusing educators and parents for a long time.According to this phenomenon, I investigated more than300students in senior1in2010from a middle school in Xinyu Jiangxi province. They are at three different levels of classes (key class, focusing on class, parallel class). Among them, I made a score analysis and some questionnaires. Besides, I made audiotaped interviews with one boy student and one girl student at each level class. Then the questionnaire data were statistically analyzed and the interview content was summarized. After that I analyzed the causes of the differences from the physiology, psychology, pedagogy, sociology, combining the domestic and foreign relevant data. The conclusion is that non-intelligence factors, educational factors, cognitive factors, social factors are the main factors resulting in the differences.For the overall development of students, we have adopted the corresponding teaching measures to play students’advantages of mathematical ability. They are to renew teachers’teaching methods, guide students’ learning method, establish a correct concept of gender differences and the implementation of gender education. These measures are good for cultivating students’logical thinking ability, improving students’interest in learning, enhancing students’confidence in learning mathematics from the concept, the proposition and reasoning teaching. According to the differences in mathematical ability between male and female students, we should help girls learn mathematics and let more girls enter the university school gate into the fields of science, mathematics, to open up a new world in the field of mathematics.To do it, I want to put forward some specific measures and suggestions:First, change the teachers’concept of "gender". How can teachers form a scientific social gender consciousness?①To treat the teacher occupation training correctly and strengthen the social gender theory study(2)To enhance teachers’ gender sensitivity③To encourage teachers to participate in gender studies. Only then can we change the gender differences into educational resources development.Second, strengthen students’classroom notes guide. The study shows that boys and girls have their own characteristics and advantages in the written notes in mathematics. Teachers can give guidance about the note-taking method, style and form and require student to process notes.Third, help students set up their confidence. Teachers should recognize female students’strong writing standard and operation with high accuracy. It can help improve the confidence of girls.Fourth, strengthen the students thinking ability training. Guide girls to learn to observe and cultivate students’ability of space imagination, logical thinking, divergent thinking and creativity.Fifth, strengthen the boy students’reading ability in mathematics. This paper provides three strategies:light type,"deep","wide","vertical","flat","use", training their mathematics reading ability from some examples.Sixth, train boy students’intentional attention. This paper focuses on three aspects:the creation of active classroom atmosphere; game teaching; classroom competition.As a result of the sample object and time limitations, this study lacks large-area and long-time practice. But I still I hope that this research can provide peer and related educators with some inspiration.
