The search method of this article include literature reviewing, behavioral event interview,questionnaire method, experimental method and psychological statistics method. We haveestablished a competency model of secondary school teachers and amended a "self-assessment questionnaire of middle school teachers’ competence ".Also, we havedeveloped a rating scale for the structured interviews of middle school teachers based on thecompetence model.37normal school students took part in the virtual interview which basedon this model. We have analyzed the scores of the structured interview according to differentgender and different appearance and compared them with the existing mature questionnaire. Itis found that there is a stereotype effect existing. The conclusions of this study are as follows:(1) construction of the middle school teachers’ competency model, which includes8factors: achievement motivation, scientific research ability, influence, occupation view,interpersonal relationships, communication skills, view of students and teaching ability. The"self-assessment questionnaire of middle school teachers’ competence " we have amended hasgood reliability and validity, which played a good role in the measurement of the middleschool teachers’ competency.(2)There are gender stereotypes and influences of appearance stereotypes in some of thecompetence dimensions of the structured interview which based on the middle schoolteachers’ competence model.(3) In a structured interview, scores of the dimensions which reflected the intellectualfeatures are unaffected by gender and appearance stereotypes.
