Study On Reforms And Developments Of Employment-oriented Vocational Education In Guangdong Province

Vocational education is an indispensable and important part of our country’s educationsystem. It plays an irreplaceable role in the economic and social development. Developingvocational education can not only serve for China’s reform and opening-up, and construction ofmodernization, but also can train a large number of high-quality specialized and skilled talentsfor economic development. These talents provide effective intelligence support for variouscareer developments. Vocational education also makes positive contributions in the process ofbuilding a well-off society in an all-round way and realizing the rejuvenation of the Chinesenation. Furthermore, it also plays an important role in promoting socialist modernizationconstruction.At present, vigorously developing vocational education is not only crucial for GuangdongProvincial Economy to go to the track of relying on progress of science and technology, but alsoone of the key factors to improve of the quality of workers and to improve the quality ofdevelopment and competitiveness. At the same time, it is also based on the characteristics of thelarge-popularity of Guangdong province. It’s an important measure to transform populationpressure into advantages in human resources. For both developed and developing countries,vocational education is a major factor to promote economic development and social progress.To promote the development of vocational education vigorously is related to the overallstrategic situations to adjust and optimize the industrial structure, promote industrial upgrading,transform the way of economic growth and enhance the comprehensive competitiveness. It alsorelates to the work pattern which Guangdong Province used to solve the "issues concerningagriculture, countryside and farmers", coordinated development of urban and rural and createsnew development advantage. In addition, it is related to maintain the social stability andharmony in Guangdong. Though Guangdong has become one of the largest province of thevocational and technical education, there are some problems, such as can not meet the needs ofeconomic and social development, obscure employment-oriented, low quality of laborers and inshort supply of skillful workers. In order to adapt to the new requirements of the Guangdongdevelopment strategy, it is of great significance to promote the development and reformation ofvocational education which is related to the overall situation and long-term developments. Inthis paper, we use a historical review to learn the development of vocational education at homeand abroad, to absorb the related ideas and views of domestic and foreign experts and scholars.On the basis of learning the experiences of Germany, Australia and other developed countries, it analyzed the current situation, characteristics, problems and as well as the space of reform anddevelopment of vocational education in Guangdong Province. At last, it put forward severalnew ideas and feasible proposals for employment-oriented vocational education reform.
