The Career Education Of Japanese Short-term University

In the field of vocational education, career education is an important part of thevocational school education in Japan, and the short-term university is one of the majorinstitutions of higher vocational education in Japan. During the late1990s, the employmentenvironment had changed tremendously. The employment issues around youngers, like NEETgroup, free labor, and early leavers, have already become the thorny problems in the Japansociety. Under such a situation, the short-term university of Japan began to promote careereducation vigorously. For many past years, the short-term university of Japan kept focusingon the exploration and study of the career education. It aimed to cultivate students’ right viewon the labor and occupation, enable the students to master the knowledge and skills needed bytheir future careers, and develop the students’ abilities of selecting their future careers actively,thereby, making the students to change successfully from school life to the career life. Aftermany years of efforts by the short-term university, career education has made someachievements. At the same time, the career education also realized the importance for itsfuture survival and development.This dissertation consists of four chapters, and focus on the research of career educationimplemented by Japan short-term university，and show a case to analyze..The overview of the career education by Japan short-term university and the relatedtheory. This chapter provides a solid foundation for the further research.The current situation and characteristic of the career education by Japan short-termuniversity. The current status analysis includes the necessity, objective, content, instructorganizations and staff. Besides, the show of the result is focus on the students’ employment.Furthermore, it concludes the characteristics of short-term career education.The study of career education by Nagasaki Short-term University. Analyze the careereducation by Japan short-term university with using a case, and focus on the analysis of theinternship mechanism and its result in the Nagasaki Short-term University.The forth chapter the effect and the problem of the implement of the Japanese short-termcareer education. Above the three chapters, conclude the effect of the Japanese short-termcareer education, and propose the current problems of the short-term career education and thecountermeasure that how to solve them.
