With the development of socialist modernization and the speeding up ofeducational reform in China, more and more problems concerning rural educationarise. Such issues as the aging of teachers in rural areas, the relatively low level ofeducation received by these teachers, the aging of teaching equipment, and theunbalanced distribution of excellent educational resources are all influencing theelementary education in rural areas. The current situation of elementary schoolclassroom teaching in rural areas is a centralized reflection of these issues. The keyand difficult points of China’s elementary education all lie in rural education. So doesthe key of implementing and developing the compulsory education. Therefore, itbecomes an urgent need to learn about the current situation of the elementary schoolclassroom teaching in rural areas.Based on a rational reflection on relevant issues and substantial classroomobservation and interviewing of teachers, this study is intended to reveal the currentsituation of the XX rural elementary school classroom teaching, discuss about itsexisting deficiencies and the influencing factors and propose some improvementstrategies so as to promote the classroom teaching in this elementary school andprovide references to elementary schools in other rural areas.This paper is divided into five parts. Chapter One is the introduction part, mainlyabout the research background, research significance and a comprehensive review ondomestic and overseas literature. Chapter Two is devoted to the research design andprocedures, mainly an introduction to the investigation background, research methods,and the key issues in the study as well as a brief description of the research subjects.Chapter Three is the empirical study, which is focused on the current situation of theXX elementary school classroom teaching in the rural areas from the perspective ofteachers’ teaching concept, teaching goal, teaching methods, teaching techniques,teaching content and teaching evaluation. Chapter Four is the analysis on theinfluencing factors of the XX elementary school classroom teaching. Chapter Five isconcerned with the improving strategies proposed based on previous investigation.
