Objective Information Literacy has been an important indicator to measure people’s overall quality and is the basis of survival and development in the information society.As a national reserve force in the medical field,medical students’information literacy affects the level of national health services.Information literacy education mode influences the success of information literacy education,it has played a vital role to enhance our students’ information literacy. By the study of information literacy education at home and abroad to realize the differences between China and developed countries’information literacy education. Choose one medical university for example,by the study of survey of medical students’information literacy to realize the status of that,propose the measures to improve our medical students’ information literacy and build a reasonable information literacy education mode for medical students.In order to enhance China’s medical students’ information literacy level in the information age and cultivate qualified medical students which can contribute for our country continuously in the medical field.Method①Literature Research.Comprehensively study the theories and practices of information literacy education at home and abroad by reading a large number of literature.Identify the connotation of information literacy and that of medical students, realize the differences of information literacy education between home and abroad.②Questionnaire Survey.Design the questionnaire includes medical students’information awareness,information knowledge.information capacity,information ethics.700questionnaires were random distributed in a medical university for full-time undergraduate and postgraduate students,withdraw601valid questionnaires,the effective rate was86%.Analyze the data by SPSS17.0.③Comparative Analysis.By comparative analysis of information literacy education at home and abroad to realize the shortcomings of that in China,learn from foreign advanced information literacy educational philosophy and ways to provide a reference for information literacy education in China.Result There is a big gap in information literacy standards,education model,online information literacy education,project study and empirical study between home and abroad.The survey shows medical students’ information literacy level is not high,such as the information knowledge is lacked,the information capacity is not optimistic and the information ethics should be improved.In addition,medical students’information literacy level is different by grades.Conclusion①The countermeasures to improve medical students’information literacy includes:strengthen the propaganda and training to realize the importance of information literacy;play the role of the library;integrate the professional courses into information literacy education;enhance teachers’level of information literacy;information literacy training should consider the students’ individual differences.②Propose an information literacy education mode which is"one integratin,two classrooms,three levels,four ways"."One integration" is the integration of information literacy education into medical professional courses."Two classrooms"are playing the role of traditional classroom education and extracurricular training."Three levels" are carrying out targeted three levels includes basic.general and professional education for the differences of medical students."Four ways" are the four education ways includes extracurricular lectures course related lectures,curricular lectures and independent lectures.
