Nowadays, China is in the process of transformation of Modernity, it has to satisfya lot of new requirements due to the rapid changes and development of the economicsociety, science technology and socialist market economy. In this new timesbackground,this paper is trying to improve our middle school moral educatico moreeffective by character education, then introduce the worth learning aspects of NewCharacter Education Movemen, followed up by the valuable experiences can be drawnfrom Chinese traditional culture, in order to investigate how to actually achieve the goalof Moral Education by ethic construction of middle school students.This paper including three parts, the first part introduces the theoretical foundationand the current value of the Character Education of middle school in China. The goal ofCharacter Education is not to force the students to conform to a certain stereotype, butto allow and encourage students to develop by themselves, to learn the way of studyingthe knowledge, the way of living a good life, the way of respecting others, the way ofgetting creative ideas, thus, the good characters can be cultivated. The second partmainly analyzes the problems currently existing in the process of cultivating the moralcharacters of middle school students in China and also discusses the root of theseproblems. The third part is the principle part, concentrating on the historicaldevelopment of American New Character Education Movemen, comparing with thecurrent situation of moral education of middle school students in China from the anglesof family and school. In this way, hopefully can discover some valuable experiencesfrom the United States, which would possibly be beneficial to the moral educationdevelopment of middle school in China. Finally, this paper has combined the effectivetactics of successful American New Character Education with Chinese nationaltraditional culture,and the author would like to make some practical suggestions for themoral education of middle school students in China.
