Traditional teaching is a product of the personnel training and development inindustrial era, which shows the typical "transmission and reception" teachingrelationship under the influence of objective epistemology. In today’s society of theknowledge era, it engenders the new requirements for the cultivation of innovativetalents, also presents a challenge of the current education system to the traditionalteaching mode, all these require us to change the traditional teaching model as toadapting the demands for the cultivation of talents. Besides constructivist learningtheory, while the development and great potential of information technology ineducation would fit the educational reform demands. Playing the respective advantagesof both traditional classroom teaching and online learning, which makes the educationalresearchers and practitioners rethink the problems of information technology ineducational field. This study aims at promoting the meaningful learning of learners bylearning from the scientific field research on the design of learning environments, whichbuilds a digital learning environment from three dimensions of learning content,learning support systems and teacher-student relationship, it also combines the variousdimensions of the digital learning environment to make an emphasis investigation onthe design methods and strategies of digital learning support system.In this study, we use the design-based research paradigm, which rises from the fieldof learning science, to design the particular occasion for learning environment, andincreasingly promote to achieving the dual development of the theory and practice.Setting an example of "Graphic Design" course through the study, we implement theresearch which includes of finding real problems, basic theory supporting, interventionsystem design, teaching implementation and evaluation from the perspective of theory-technology-practice-evaluation. While it immersed in a real learning situation, we would sum up the digital learning support system design principles and strategies toform the basis of the following research, so as to enable learners to shift from rotelearning to meaningful learning, and provide a theoretical model and practiceframework for our research.
