A Study On The Correlationof Industral Structure And College Students’ Employment

It must be a long time for the researches to discuss the problem of collegestudents employment. There exist too many hot angles have been deliberated such asthe excessive expansion of higher education, the limited employment ability, theshortage of security system, the chaotic employment conditions, the antiquatedemployment concepts, the unbalanced employment psychology and so on. Theproblem of college students· employment must be solved urgently. However, it notonly can·t be settled completely, but also has becoming increasingly sharp. From thispoint of view, these researches do not get to the essence of the problem, and couldn·tafford the substantial suggestions. Therefore, this study will point out an new viewthat there is a direct relation between the industrial structure and the college students·employment, and the key point to solve the problem of college students· employmentis to adjust the industrial structure.Based on the principle of industrial economics, this study will choose GansuProvince as the example and quote the employment elasticity, structural deviation,and the correlation and regression analysis to prove this new view. Meanwhile, thestudy selects Northwest Normal University as a case study, and uses the questionnaireinvestigation. The purpose is to point out that the new view of this study isreasonable.The results of this study as follows:1. There exists the direct relation of the industrial structure and the collegestudents· employment in Gansu Province. For one thing, the primary industrycorrelates with the college students· employment negatively, and the tertiary industrycorrelates with the college students· employment positively, and the secondaryindustry associates with the college students· employment hardly. The industrialmodelμ the secondary industry, the tertiary industry, the primary industryμ and theemployment structure the tertiary industry, the secondary industry, the primaryindustryμ contradict with each other. Therefore, the irrational industrial structure is theroot cause for the difficulty of college students· employment2. Producer services and life service industry of the tertiary industry associate with the college students· employment directly. According to the regression analysis,producer services correlate with the college students· employment positively andgreatly, but life service industry gradually a correlates with the college students·employment negatively;3. Producer services of the tertiary industry should be the main area for thecollege students in Gansu Province;4. The ideal employment domain (producer services of the tertiary industry) forthe college students in Gansu Province contradicts with the actual. Therefore, byadjusting the industrial structure to solve the problem of employment is imperative.According to the conclusion that industrial structure adjustment must be the bestway to solve the problem of college students· employment, there are countermeasuresas follows: the government should strengthen regulation and policy guidance, andchanges the problem of employment from difficultyμ to μbreakthroughμ; the collegesshould meet the social development, and changes the problem of employment fromemployment rate preservation μto μ high employment rate μ; the college studentsshould transform their concepts from employment negativelyμ to μemploymentpositivelyμ. In conclusion, in order to resolve the problem of college students·employment, the government, the colleges and the college students need to make theirown effects.
