| College students are the reserve forces of modernization strategy, so their overallquality directly influences the success of socialism with Chinese characteristics. Theideological and political level is the core of college students’ comprehensive quality,and in colleges and universities, it is mainly carried out through theoretical coursesand counselors’ routine work on ideological and political education. As the importantmentors in college students’ daily life and study, counselors are the backbones forstudents’ ideological and political education, whose actual result of their work has adirect impact on the growth of college students. In2004, the CPC central committeeproposed to further strengthen the ideological and political education of collegestudents, and effectively improve the level and the effect of ideological and politicaleducation, due to which, the work on college students’ ideological and politicaleducation has received significant attention from various social circles. Therefore, ithas become an important task and responsibility for our teaching staff engaged inideological and political education to explore the current condition in ideological andpolitical education work of college counselors, and to probe into the effectivecountermeasures for improving the college counselors’ work effectiveness.Lots of scholars have done researches on college counselor team and ideologicaland political education of college students from various angles, many of whichbecome the major learning materials and theoretical resources in completing thisthesis. In this thesis, from the perspective of ideological and political education andcombined with the one-year college student work experience in graduate study, byreferring to relevant theoretical disciplines from contemporary management,education and educational psychology etc., and consulting a lot of documentliteratures and books, we have a deep research on college counselors’ work inideological and political education, insisting on the correspondence of historical andpractical study, and the unification of basic theory defining and practicalcountermeasure study. The thesis is divided into four parts.In the first part, it gives a brief overview on the research background, researchsignificance and research thinking.In the second part, it provides a systematic introduction on the educationalfunction, the connotation of effectiveness, and principles and standards for evaluationrelated to college counselors’ work on ideological and political education; itcomprehensively surveys the practical condition of college counselors’ workeffectiveness and particularly expounds the defects of the work effectiveness inideological and political education with the affirmation on the continuousimprovement.In the third part, from internal and external aspects, it mainly studies the causesfor the weak work effectiveness of counselors’ work in ideological and political education. It is found out that the current situation is due to both the counselorsthemselves and the continuous complication of educational objects and environment.In the fourth part, it does a deep exploration on how to strengthen the practicalwork effectiveness of college counselors, and aimed at the causes for the problems, itputs forward some operable countermeasures. The focus of this thesis is to discusshow to constantly increase the actual results of counselors’ work in ideological andpolitical education, and effectively improve college students’ overall quality ofideological and political education. Based on the analysis of causes influencingcounselors’ work effectiveness in the third part, it specifically brings forward themeasures for solving the problems. As for counselors, they should enhance theirself-construction, know well about their role positioning to improve their ownqualities, and based on the “student-oriented†work ethic, constantly innovate theirwork methods and patterns; as for colleges and universities, they should continuouslyconsolidate their management functions, innovate in management system forcounselors, and construct harmonious campus environment; besides, the socialenvironment should be optimized so as to provide a good social atmosphere forcounselors’ work in ideological and political education. |
