Parenthood conflict is caused by disagreements between parents and children. Rural middle school students are the object of this research, in which the analysis is made horizontally and vertically, as well as from the aspect of family system.639effective questionnaires, collected from five rural middle schools in Jianyang, Anxian and Deyang, contribute to the following conclusions:(1) On family environment, there are five types due to the way family members interact. They are democratic type, authoritarian type, paradoxical type, indulging type and ignoring type.(2) On parenthood conflict, the conflict frequency takes no gender difference, but varies according to different grades, scores, being a single child or not, and living with parents or not. Conflict is more frequent among low grade or score, single children and those who live with parents.(3) On the corresponding strategies, different strategies are evident in junior two and junior three; children not living with parents tend to use peaceful and private ways to solve problems more frequently; and non-single children tend to take more peaceful measures, approach-avoidance and private rebellions.(4) On the relations between the three aspects mentioned above, the total conflict frequency differs in various types of family. Family environment, conflict frequency and the corresponding strategies are connected by strategy efficiency. Forecast is available according to different ways.
