School culture is the soul and backbone of a school. It is the common anddominant value and spiritual character recognized and abided by the entire faculty aswell as students and it is gradually accumulated and developed on the basis oflong-term school practice. In a sense, the establishment of education is the cultivationof a culture. Developing the peculiarity of school culture and forming a healthy,positive and aggressive cultural mission can help to achieve the goal of “culturecivilizes the masses”, which makes a great difference in promoting the developmentof a school.However, nowadays, many principals inside China don’t have a deepunderstanding of how great cultural lead can promote the development of a school.Most are staying on the stage of chanting slogans. Few of them put developing apeculiarity of school culture into practice. Some of them have carried out the culturaladministration only with the aim of constructing scholar campus, creating aharmonious campus and learning organization, enhancing cohesive force and having ateam spirit, they seldom try to dig enough to get the peculiarity of school culture fromthe aspect of the core values of campus cultural spirit, and internalize it into theconscious activity and behavior custom.Therefore, based on the reality of Huaying School, the author puts forward to theidea of creating a “harmonious and happy” school culture with the core concept of“harmonious development, joy of teaching and learning”; chase down “diligent,simple, tolerant and optimistic” school culture; dredge up the history of Huayingschool. This article also makes an analysis on strategy, research basis and principles ofdeepening the connotation of “harmonious and happy” education. Besides, From theaspects of the construction of behavior culture, of regulation culture, of spiritualculture and of material culture, the author set forth the action strategies like creating“sunshine culture”, building “sun-like” teachers, developing “sun-like” lessons and classes, putting the idea of “sun-like cultivation” into practice, which push forwardthe development of Huaying school in a effective way.Moreover, this paper draws the following conclusions: the principal part ofdeveloping the peculiarity of school culture is the teacher and students of a school.The function of the peculiarity of school culture is to promote the development ofschool, the core element is the cultivation of values and the main way to develop thepeculiarity of school culture is practice and action. This paper mainly researches howto promote school mission, highlight school peculiarity, create harmonious schoolenvironment and form a kind of happy teaching and learning campus atmosphere. Theauthor also focuses on how to turn the core value of school culture into the peculiarityof school culture which would be made into a code of conduct and behavior pattern.The author hopes to realize the vision of carrying forward the cultural heritage,developing the peculiarity of school culture and promoting the development of school.
