Citizen is the subject of the social system. Citizen and social development and progress are interacting each other. It’s evident that citizen education is not only education problem, but also the root of the stable development of state and society. We are welcoming in a completely new era which puts forward the new challenge to citizen education. In the process of globalization, various citizen gradually change to world citizen of globalization. Training world citizen has become one of the goals of various educational careers. Therefore, world citizen education emerge as the times require. In China, the concept of world citizen education has not been popularizing yet. Research and discussion of citizen and citizen literacy education like a raging fire in academic circles, however, the correlation study of world citizen is not many articles. The paper which based on ideological and political education major researched the related problems of world citizen education in our country in the era of globalization. Starting from the related theories, interpretation, existing problems and countermeasure research of world citizen education at home and abroad, the paper systematically studied and discussed world citizen education theory. The paper aims at guiding our country citizen at all levels to establish a solid world citizenship, actively understand the world and participate in global affairs. The citizen should contribute themselves to promote world peace and development, making themselves become highly qualified "world citizen" who both have global awareness and could cope with "the centrifugal force of the global economy".The paper mainly consists of5parts. The first part was introduction which proposed research background, purpose, significance and present situation at home and abroad. The second part summarized the related theories of world citizen, respectively defined the following concepts, including citizen, citizen education, world citizen and world citizen education. Moreover, this part specifically interpreted theoretical basis of world citizen education. The third part combined the related research data at home and abroad and discussed content construction of world citizen education from basic target and content system of world citizen education. The fourth part analyzed the existing problems and causes of world citizen education in our country. The fifth part promoted strategies and research about world citizen education in our country. This part described how to improve the understanding of world citizen education, how to perfect the new ideas of world citizen education and which kind of education method to strengthen world citizen education. At the same time, it also promoted to construct Chinese-featured educational view of world citizen. The author wishes that the paper could provide ideas for the careers of world citizen education in our country and provide references for further upgrading effectiveness of world citizen education.
