As the secondary vocational education in Guangxi gradually stepped into the connotative development stage, the development of school characteristics and the improvement of attractiveness of vocational schools have become the hottest points of the development of secondary vocational schools. School characteristic is the lifeline of the development of secondary vocational schools as well as the concentrated expression of the secondary vocational schools’ effectiveness. The development of school characteristics is not only the survival strategy of the secondary vocational schools, but also the development strategy of them.Based on the studies of the connotation, theory and other literature about the characteristics of secondary vocational schools, and with the research methods such as literature, surveys, case method, etc. and from the aspects of school orientation, school system, training model, professional development, teacher management, campus culture and other school characteristics, this paper describes the current characteristics development status of the model of the development of secondary vocational schools in Guangxi----Guangxi Liuzhou A Exemplary Secondary Vocational School and summarized the school’s characteristics development road of "find the right position, have a clear service targets----seize the advantage, select characteristics project----control the risks, build a good system protection----make a stable development and full penetration of the school’s characteristics"; then, this paper combined the theoretical basis of the characteristics of the development of secondary vocational schools, analyzed and identified the problems in its characteristics development from the angles of school-based management theory, vocational education management theory and strategic theory of differentiation; finally, from the angles of schools, relevant government departments, enterprises and society, this paper further proposed the thinking and recommendations of the promotion of Guangxi secondary vocational schools characteristics development.
