With the rapid social changes, the traditional chinese marriage and family relations is changed, the divorce rate is rising in recent years, single-parent families are gradually becoming a new form of the family, single-parent families headed by single mothers that accounted for more than half of the total number of single-parent families, the emergence and growth trend of single-mother families has become an inevitable social reality. What’s the pressure and adversity will meet in their life? Whether these adversity inspire their resilience or not? What’s the component of the resilience? What are the manifestations of resilience and what are the impact factors? Those are questions i want to find answers.This paper bases on the single mothers in Qufu city of Shandong province, It uses the convenient sample to choose seven single mothers, as well as in-depth interview, case study, observation and literature review.I analyze the basic components of the single mothers’resilience and explore the forms of the resilience. It concludes that the components consists of the inner factor and outer factor, the inner factor of the resilience is the intrinsic quality of the single mothers in rural areas, take the initiative to express the thoughts of love, problem-solving skills, emotional management and competence.The outer facor include the development of social relations and networks, and the effect from the peer group and the meaningful participation opportunities. The resilience of the left-behind children has both the active and positive sides. The active side is showed by cope with stressful events actively in life, high problem-solving skills, developing the network of social relations actively, positive life goals, learning the new skills, improving their competence, grasping the meaningful participation opportunities, having high self-identity and high self-evaluation capacity. The positive side is reflected by the neglect of others’exclusion, dening their own advantages, avoiding the pressure from peer group,afraid of to face the real life, unwilling to face the stressful events in the life.Through the analysis of the rural single mothers, the study will be from the case group, community, social policy and proposes some social work intervention strategies, to find their own potential, to improve the resilience.
