Artistic conception is a significant notion in Chinese ancient poetry, as well as a major symbol which makes Chinese national arts outshine other national arts. Rooted in Chinese national culture, artistic conception exerts an influence on Chinese national aesthetic ideal, taste and psychology. Today, in a time of Chinese language confronting immense impact from western languages, I choose to dig into the artistic conception of ancient poetry teaching in senior high school as my topic, through which I’d like to re-endow Chinese language with unlimited poetic and artistic imagination, so that our students will be able to apprehend the powerful national spirits and excellent national culture of China, thus passing down and carrying forward our splendid traditional culture.This paper can be divided into four parts. Part one makes a brief introduction to some related notions of artistic conception, including its meaning, cause and characteristics, all of which constitute the theoretical basis of the elaboration. Part two emphasizes the value of artistic conception digging of ancient poetry teaching in senior high school. Based on tremendous questionnaires, this paper mainly discusses about the value of ancient poetry, physical and mental development features of senior high school students, current situation of ancient poetry teaching as well as educational function of artistic conception digging of ancient poetry; in the meanwhile, the writer makes statistics and straightens out the ancient poems in the present Chinese textbooks published by People’s Education Press, and then classifies them according to their artistic conceptions. Part three chiefly elaborates the content of artistic conception digging of ancient poetry teaching in senior high school in terms of three parts, namely the understanding of poetic wording, the appreciation of poetic feeling and the comprehension of poetic implication. In this part, the writer places emphasis on digging of the profound artistic conception behind poetic wording, feeling and implication as a crucial content of teaching. Part four is key to the whole paper, which focuses on the implementation strategies of artistic conception digging of ancient poetry teaching in senior high school, that is, how to facilitate students to feel and see the artistic conceptions in practice as well as further reconstruct and sublime the artistic conceptions. For this purpose, the writer reads through a great number of teaching cases and then analyses them, combined with which the writer makes an exposition of the implementation strategies of artistic conception digging; besides, in this part, the writer also makes a short and concise discussion about the principles of artistic conception teaching of ancient poetry and its requirements on teachers, so as to realize the return of artistic conception in ancient poetry teaching of senior high school.Through an analysis of abundant materials and teaching cases, this paper comes up with the implementation strategies of artistic conception digging of ancient poetry teaching in senior high school, as well as makes classification and statistics of the ancient poems in the present Chinese textbooks published by People’s Education Press according to their artistic conceptions. The writer believes, all of this will somehow benefit the practical teaching of ancient poetry, as well as gives certain enlightenment and guidance to teachers by facilitating them to draw more of students’attention to poetry classes, thus achieving the inheritance and carrying forward of national culture step by step.
