In the Chinese education activities along history, theories and methods about talent and education evaluation have been formed. Among them, the theory about talent and education evaluation by Liu Shao who lived in the Three Kingdoms Period was the most systematic one. His work, Ren Wu Zhi, which has been casting profound influences on the later generations, is considered as the first systematic book which studies talent and education evaluation in China’s history.The thought in the book is very rich and the evaluation system mentioned in it includes some opinions about the essence of talents from the perspective of simple materialism. Meanwhile, it has pointed out the evaluation difficulties. To reach an appropriate and all-round evaluation about humans, Liu Shao proposed a criterion named "Nine Characteristics", which specifies the evaluation and makes the process feasible. For the methods to evaluate talents and education, he put forward a primary way called "Eight Observations" and "Five Reviews". Moreover, he described seven kinds of mistakes probably made during the process of evaluation. This, undoubtedly, makes the evaluation more convincing and effective.This study, based on the theatrical results about modern talent and education evaluation, makes a research on the evaluation thought in Ren Wu Zhi. The paper consists of four parts. The first part is introduction. In this part, the theoretical and practical meaning of this paper is demonstrated. Then, an introduction to the research methods, outline, and basis is made, plus the theoretical identification about all the related key concepts. In the second part, the dimensions and criteria about the evaluation in the book are studied. In the third part, the methods about the evaluation in the book are studied. In the last part, the historical value about the evaluation thought is researched and its enrichment on today’s talent and education evaluation system is concluded.
