Innovative thinking is an advanced unique activity attributed to humanbeings. Driven forward by the demands of theories and practices, it is thepremise of creative practice and ingenuity creativity. Based on theories andpractical experience, it makes the full use of subject activity to break through thetraditional and fixed thinking habits. Being flexible, ingenious and unique, it canbe used to explore the law of things.According to higher education objective, College student social practicecan be planned and organized to be involved in social politics, economics andculture. In this process, students can learn the national situations, receiveeducation and improve their competence. It is an important part of socialismhigh education with Chinese characteristics. In social practices, students are inwide contacts and involved with society, their innovation ability, social practiceability and innovative entrepreneurship can be developed. Through thecombination of theory and practice, they will understand the society, improvetheir competence and grow up healthily.College student social practice has a long great tradition in Chinese highereducation. It has always been highly focused by the CPC, the government, andextensively cared by students as well. Social practice has not only been animportant grip on ideological and political education but also an importantmethod to improve the quality of talent training. Besides, this tradition playedpositive roles in stimulating student’s innovative thinking and therefore becameone of the important channels to cultivate students’ creativity and improve theirpractice competence. Countless facts have proved that social practice takes anindispensable position in developing student’s innovative thinking. In an erawhen creativity is a major driving force for social economic development, a coreelement for a country’s competiveness, our higher education needs to strengthenthe effectiveness of social practice. When cultivating student’s innovativethinking, we need to deepen our understanding of this new thinking mode andfind more options for the use of social practice in innovative thinking. In this thesis, starting from the relevant concepts, literature researchmethods, questionnaire and interview research were employed to explore thebasic connotation and theoretic basis of social practice. Special attentions weregiven to the influencing factors and conditions for innovative thinking. Detaileddiscussions were taken to show that social practice can improve student’sdivergent thinking, visual conversion, imagination, comprehensive competence,can inspire and assist students to be creative, can help them to practice creativityand reflect on it. At last, considering the efforts made by society, college, teacherand students when they combine innovative thinking with social practice, theauthor produced his solutions to improve student’s innovative thinking.
