A Study On Current Situations And Countermeasure About The High-level Sports Teams Construction In Universities Of Shandong Province

Since universities held the high-level sports teams in our country, we have maderemarkable achievements. But there are still some disadvantages. In order to clearlyunderstand the situations of high-level sports teams construction, this paper does a survey ofthe high-level sports teams construction in the new round of evaluation based on2010assessment materials of universities in Shandong province.According to the evaluation index, this paper adopts the literature material method,expert interview method, logic analysis and mathematical statistics method to investigate thesituation of the high-level sports teams construction in the universities of Shandong provincefrom the perspectives of project layout, leadership, team management, the coach teamconstruction, conditions security, teaching and training effect and the school community workand draws the following conclusions:1. There are some defects existing in the layout of universities’ sporting events in Shandongprovince. a. as to the high-level project settings capacity, high-level sports teams in Shandongprovince recruit too little students; b. the layout of sporting events is unreasonable. Track andfield projects are too much, and some projects are set too little such as rowing, dragon boat,shooting which are set in only one university; c. the layout is lack of regional characters; d."the famous universities’ effect" of some key universities reflects apparent; e, sports resultsare paid too much attention.2. As to the leadership of high-level sports teams in the universities of Shandong province,every university have the special organization to be responsible for high-level sports teamsconstruction, which ensures that the management of sports teams is effective. In the aspect ofdevelopment plan of the sports team, most universities have the clear short-term, medium andlong-term objectives, but the objectives of some universities are still vague.3. As to the management of high-level sports teams enrollment in Shandong province, first,universities have strict enrollment rules to make the enrollment open, fair, impartial; second,for the situation that students mainly come from the province, some universities have set upbases in middle or high schools for recruiting reserve sports talents; third, in nearly threeyears the number of enrollment is only reduced in the track and field events each year, and theenrollment of others events remains steady or increased progressively year by year. On the management of school roll, the number of separating classes is less than that of not separating.Universities adopt different measures for the different athletes, but the phenomenon of"training overweighing culture" is obvious. The contradiction between training and studyingis sharpening. As to strengthening the training competition management, the policies forenhancing the management of the coach are complete. Besides, the attendance status ofathletes in most universities is good. Only one university in Shandong keeps the same level asthe universities of American on the frequency of training every week. The level ofachievement has no direct relationship with the amount of time. The division of everydepartment is clear, and each other work cooperatively in daily management.4.As to the construction of the high-level coach teams of universities in Shandong Province,first, staff establishment and structure of coach team are reasonable; second, the level ofcoaches’ scientific research should be improved; third, some universities lack full-time coach,and the organization of the professional training is poor.5. As to the guarantee of conditions in universities of Shandong province, first, the number ofthe venues can meet the basic sports team training, but the condition of auxiliary facilitieshave big difference, which has a close relationship with the each college funds; second, theinvestment of the high-level sports teams construction in every universities exist greatdifference, only4universities have social funding approach.6. As to the result of teaching and training in the universities of Shandong, first, someuniversities care less about the athletes’ literacy class study; second, the average number of alluniversities to attend the contest is only3, which can not fulfill the purpose of training teams.Besides, the key points of many universities have turned to domestic from the province.7. As to the development of the mass sports activities, first, the qualified rate of the universitystudents’ physical tests is high; second, the development of students’ mass sports activities arein good condition; third, the intent and purpose of the development of the mass sportsactivities in universities and the construction of high-level sports teams are different. There isstill discussion on selecting the development of the mass sports activities and physical tests asone part of the high-level sports teams’ assessment index.According to the above opinions, there are some suggestions:(1)adjust the project layoutreasonable, and balance the proportion and strength of the project. According to the regionalcharacteristics, expand the number of the recruitment to meet the needs of high-level sports teams development;(2) each university should have an accurate positioning to clear theirdevelopment goal for high-level sports teams;(3) broaden channels of recruiting studentsactively, and pay attention to student’s learning needs. Besides, deal with the conflict betweenlearning and training correctly;(4) improve the favorable terms to external coaches tointroduce more excellent full-time coaches, and strengthen the training work of coaches;(5)universities should increase funding for guaranteeing the spend of training and contestthrough actively finding the social capital support for high-level sports teams;(6) thecompetent departments in Shandong should carry out various of competition activities toimprove the level of training;(7) from the perspective of assessment to the high-level sportsteams, the development of the mass sports activities and physical tests do not have greatactual meaning. Thus, they are suggested to be cancelled.
