| In China, the elementary education curriculum reform is on going, and it stronglyadvocates ability training, thus capacity-education has become a hot issue of society as awhole. Nevertheless, in the actual teaching activities, the junior high school chemistryexperiment capability was not well educated. Important concepts and objectives of this is toenhance students’ scientific literacy. It is essential for the students in the future to developscientific literacy, and chemistry experiment capability is an integral part of chemistryliteracy.Changing the status of junior high school chemistry experiment ability and thedevelopment of junior high school chemistry experiment capability is an important issue to besolved, and need further investigations.In this study the chemistry teachers and junior middle school students were surveyed inWeifang urban area, the status of junior high school chemistry experiment ability was studiedusing a questionnaire, and the main problems of the training process is:①The school leadersdoesn’t pay enough attention to it.②School management system restrict the education ofability of experiment.③The class sizes are too large, and the students hands-on opportunity islack.④The teachers’ thinking and understanding is not enough.⑤Teachers’ task is arduous,and they can not fully take into account the capacity-building.⑥The teachers’ practical skillsand research capacity fail to meet the requirements. At last, based on the current situation andthe major problems, the following countermeasures to the practice of the junior high schoolchemistry experiment ability were put forward:①Pay attention to the basis and training, andlay a solid foundation for the experimental ability.②Culture emotions for experiments,stimulate students’ enthusiasm for the experiment as well as the motivation of it.③Developinteresting experiments in families to build the second class to cultivate a chemistryexperiment ability.④Open chemical practice lessons in Grade Two of Junior high school andexpand the ways to cultivate the ability of chemical experiments.⑤Strengthen the theconstruction of chemical experiment teachers and improve teachers’experimental capabilities.⑥Strengthen the construction and management of laboratories and create a betterenvironment for the students to do experiments.⑦Change the evaluation and strengthen theexamination for the experiments.Hopefully, it has certain degree of theoretical and practical significance for the education of the experimental ability for junior high school students.Chemistry is a discipline based on experiments, and the validation of assumptions, thecreation of new substances, and the discovery of new elements were all dependent onchemistry experiments. Emphasis on chemistry experiments and the capacity-building of thechemical experiment would be helpful to cultivate talent with the chemistry literacy, andachieve chemical curriculum goals. |
