Independent College is a product of Chinese higher education becoming popular from elite in recent more than10years and has become an important part of Chinese higher education. The counselors of independent colleges are the "main forces" of ideological and political education for students in independent colleges. For a long time, the team construction of counselors in independent colleges mostly copies the ways of parent universities and not does construction according to the particularity of independent colleges, which have caused a lot of problems to the team construction of counselors in independent colleges and could not meet the demands for development of ideological and political work of college students in aspects such as counselor team management, counselor service level, professional qualities etc. Therefore the improvement of team construction of counselors in independent colleges is an important work in current times. The implementation of professionalization construction of counselor team in independent colleges so to build a new mechanism promoting the counselor profession lifelong, professional and specialistic is a strategy which could solve the problems in essence. It is not only the objective requirement for current division of labor in society becoming evergrowing meticulous and educational reform in higher learning institutions, the objective requirement of counselors’work and political attribute, requirement for the counselors doing self development and realization of self values, also has positive and important significance for promoting the ideological and political education for college students, cultivating qualified constructors and successors, maintaining the stability of higher learning institutions, etc.This thesis is to discuss the team professionalization development issues of counselors in independent colleges by basing upon the present situations of current counselor team in independent colleges, insisting on the goal as building a professional counselor team with "strong politicalization, proficient profession, strict discipline, correct style", according to the spirit of Central Committee documents combining the research results on team construction of counselors in higher learning institutions by various experts, and combining my front line work understanding and experience as a counselor for many years so to provide some suggestions with reference values.This thesis is divided into five chapters. Chapter Ⅰ is introduction, mainly elaborating the research background, research significance, research status at home and abroad of this thesis. Chapter Ⅱ sets forth the intention and characteristics of counselors team professionalization as well as the relationship between professionalization and specialization; through the analysis on the theoretical basis of professionalization development, it points out the objective necessity of the team professionalization development of counselors in independent colleges. Chapter Ⅲ, through the empirical research on the construction status of current counselor team in independent colleges and my work experiences, points out the existing main problems of team construction of counselors in independent colleges, such as imperfect personnel and professional management system, unsteady team, indefinite work duties, unreasonable team structure, low professional qualities etc. Chapter Ⅳ analyzes the main reasons for the foregoing problems. Chapter Ⅴ gives countermeasures and suggestions according to the abovementioned problems and reasons, and holds the view that it is necessary to improve the understanding towards role orientation and work objective orientation of counselors in independent colleges, implement the optimization of counselors’ work in independent colleges and multistep construction of profession development, optimize the team structure of counselors in independent colleges, complete the admittance, assessment, excitation and escape mechanism of counselors in independent colleges, set up the professional training system of counselors in independent colleges. The professionalization construction of the counselor team in above aspects will finally realize the professionalization construction of counselor team in independent colleges.
