Comprehensive development of human being is the logical basis of the development of university education. It is also an important goal of the university general education curriculum. The development of the university is influenced by socio-political and economic changes. Human comprehensive development and university development logic is squeezed, or even be distorted. How to return to the university of the educational function and serve the social development? University general education is one of the solutions. Social change will cause the adjustment of the objectives of general education.This paper, taking Zhejiang University general education curriculum as an example, investigates the impact of social change on the curricular design of general education and vice versa. It aims to reveal the interaction between the two and provide some suggestions for the current general education in China.The introductory part of the paper introduces the origin and significance of research, research methods, the definition.This first part is" General Education of the Republic of China period" Discusses the University general education in the Republic of China. It discusses the social background of general education. Not only by external factors, but also by the internal changes of higher education in China.The second part is "the loss of general education in20th century50s-70s", Elaborated in the1950s-70s, China was in comprehensive learning environment of the Soviet Union, the University was professional education, although alleviated the new China in urgent need of construction professionals to some extent, but a departure from the higher education inherent law of development, resulting in General Educationloss, resulting in negative consequences.
