The origin of the Performance management was in the70’s America of20thcentury, which came into China in the1990s. It is deeply loved by the Administratorsas its perfect system, daintiness process and continual improvement of the virtuouscycle. The traditional culture and management mode is still affecting organizationmanagers even all the members of the organization. In the process of implementingperformance management, because of some reasons such like incompleteunderstanding of new performance management, the experiences and skills limitationsof the performance of the system designers and executors and so on, there are still alot of various errors all over the practice of performance management.Performance management is a comprehensive administerial system, covered withmany aspects and also is the center of human resource management. To makeperformance management effectively implemented and instructing the practice, wemust deeply understand the theory and the other elements of the performancemanagement system.Student management personnel is the mainstay of the ideological and politicaleducation in college as well as the nucleus staff of the undergraduate administrationtask. They are charged with the task of each aspect of the students’ administrationincluding undergraduate education, management and service, etc. Therefore, if wecould striving to build up a high-quality students’ ideological work team, it is not onlyrelated to the comprehensive service level of the whole team of the college studentadministration but also will directly and deeply effected the ideological and politicaleducation in college.After a half century development, the university students’ management system inChina has formed the assess system contrapose the college student management work.According to the characteristic of general university student management work, theassess system mainly contened basic quality, job responsibilities, workingperformance and other projects. Useing these certain work checking methods, toassess the working staff, and as the criterion to give rewards or punishment, and callsself-reflection and improve, according to the evaluation results.This paper takes the student management assessment of Hunan CommunicationPolytechnic College for an example, combined with the system theory and incentive theory, and reference the relevant experience, with the author’s feeling and years ofexperience in related work, gives suggestions to improve the assessment system formin the aspects of rebuilding target and positioning of the student management staffassessment.
