In current senior high schools, when it comes to teaching chemistry, students have not been fully motivated and their potential has notbeen fulfilled. Their thinking habits are not well developed, making itdifficult for them to adjust to self-learning in colleges and universitiesand to some degree holding them back from acquiring newknowledge and cultivating creativity in their future work.Based on the circumstances mentioned above, I have carriedsome research and put it into practice. The conventional teachingmethods in senior high school need changing. We are supposed toensure that teachers as well as students are motivated so that teacherswill play a better role in teaching and students will be more absorbed intheir studies. By providing students more opportunities to study on theirown, chemistry teachers can make classes more lively and studentsmore active. By guiding students to think in a creative way, we canarouse students’ interest in studying and make them truly capable ofthinking and learning, thus laying a solid foundation for their lifelonglearning process. It has been proved by practice that the application of mind map tothe chemistry teaching in senior high schools can be of great benefit. Not only does it strengthen the communication and cooperationamong students, but also it will increase students’ interest in chemistry.Furthermore, it polishes up students’ thinking ability. We can safelyconclude that it is a teaching model that fits in the development ofsociety. Applied to chemistry teaching on a proper scale, mind map willhelp fulfill students’ mental ability.
