With the development of economy and the progress of society, the competition is becoming increasingly fierce, talent, as the most important resource is paid more and more attention. The teacher, as the disseminator of knowledge, plays an important role in the economic and social development. As the saying goes:Teachers are able to spread knowledge and help people to lift their doubts. The teacher occupation is noble and sacred, teachers shoulder the responsibility of fostering the future builders for our motherland and nation. So, teachers’work and life condition have its particularity? Their needs are different? Whether they need targeted management measures?This study attempts to around the word "comparison", according to age, the college teachers are divided into two groups, called young teachers and senior teachers. This article compare two groups of college teachers from two respects:ERG needs and job satisfaction, and in this research I will explore the relationship between the ERG needs and job satisfaction of teachers in colleges and universities. This study chooses the college teachers in Hunan Province as the research object. Through reading and reviewing the relevant theories and literatures, I learned a lot of knowledge about the research status and development trend, and then summarize and generalize research literature on college teachers’demand, job satisfaction and the relationship between then respectively. On the basis of previous studies, combined with the characteristics of the study object, I compiled two questionnaires, and then distributed questionnaires in the comprehensive universities of Hunan province. Through the statistical analysis of the survey result, at the end of this article, I put forward many management suggestions respectively for the two types of teachers. And I hope this study will provide valuable reference to make education policy and school management measures.The conclusions of this study as follows:1two types of teachers both have high scores on the strength of the whole ERG needs, strength of three respects of the ERG needs and the importance of then. The whole job satisfaction is at the secondary level. There is a significant negative correlation between the strength of ERG needs and job satisfaction.2young teachers’whole ERG needs strength, existence needs strength and growth needs strength are higher than that of senior teachers, senior teachers’relatedness needs strength is higher than that of young teachers, young teachers think the existence needs is most important, however, senior teachers think that the relatedness needs is the most important thing, young teachers’job satisfaction is higher than senior teachers’. Compared two types of teachers, young teachers’existence needs have greater influence on job satisfaction, senior teachers’ relatedness needs have greater effect on job satisfaction, while, the growth needs influence on the job satisfaction of two types of teachers are not obviously different.
