With the popularization of higher education in-depth, vocational education has aroused people s attention. Compared to general higher education, higher vocational education is to cultivate the students who is applied and skilled personnel in areas such as production, construction, management and service. This requires that higher vocational colleges should pay attention to the practical teaching, to increase the students’ comprehensive vocational ability and promote students from the "person of school" to "professional person", and to improve the employability of students. To cultivate the students into "professional person" is deep-rooted understanding of the goals of higher vocational education, however, currently many higher vocational colleges have many problems in practical teaching, the existence of these problems to some extent hinder the culture of "professional person".Author conducted a survey and interviews of several higher vocational colleges according to the topic of "current situation of practical teaching in higher vocational colleges". Through the analysis of survey data, the author summed up the problems in the practical teaching of higher vocational colleges and simply analyzed related causes, and based on the proposed optimization, the author put forward the optimized strategy of practical teaching in order to cultivate "professional person"This article is divided into four parts. The first part mainly expounds the reasons and significance to study the problems, and analyzes the research status about the problems.The second part outlines the basic connotation of "professional person" and the relationship between "professional person" training and practical teaching in higher vocational colleges, and analyzes the basic characteristics of the practical teaching under the "professional person" perspective. The third part sums up several major problems existing in the practical teaching of vocational colleges according to the survey results, and related causes are analyzed. The fourth part analyzes the optimized strategies on the practical teaching to promote the cultivation of "professional person", for example, how to establish the goals of practical teaching, how to rich content of practical teaching, how to reform the teaching methods, how to adjust practical teaching evaluation, how to improve the practical teaching security conditions and so on.
