| The Archival Research method has been used. Firstly, the paper has defined the connotation of the college students career information service system from the perspective of target, service provider and receiver, information contents, means and methods of delivery. Based on the history of American college students career information service system, the paper presents the development context of it. Then, from the perspective of the information service provider, it analyses their role in the system. After that, Oregon University and Harvard University selected as an example, the implementation of the college career information service is observed and discussed in detail. Finally, the paper concludes the characteristic experience of American college students career information service system and also that for our country’s inspiration.The paper concludes that American college students career information service system consists of the United States government as the leading part, association organizations as the supplement, colleges or universities as the central part. The characteristic experiences of it are the support of the career guidance theory to the system, career development policy and supporting funds, the build-up of career information service standards, the concept of students service, the mutual cooperation of relevant organizations, professional and international career information content, the support of information technology. Career development has a positive impact on retention, transition, career and life success through literature review. Based on the comparison of college students career information service system in America and that in China, the paper has proposed some inspirations to develop college students career information service system in our country. |
