Private supplementary tutoring has become a commonplace thing in order that people are notsurprised to see students go to private tutoring in the weekend. We can see all kinds of cram schooladvertising everywhere. Private supplementary tutoring is the key topic between parents and amongstudents, and it has walked into common family. For it has become a part of the necessary expensesfor the family, private supplementary tutoring is one of the few industries that contrarian grow sincethe financial crisis in2008.In fact, private supplementary tutoring is against our country’s education policy. Thegovernment asks for reducing the students’ burden, such as regulating the students’ studying time inschool, limiting the homework for students at home and so on. However, in this case, privatesupplementary tutoring is still required. Why doesn’t it disappear, but increases fiercely? It is worththinking. Chinese scholars have attention on private supplementary tutoring, but there has beenscare literature on this field.According to the reasons above,the author did the survey in6schools in Taiyuan city.Duringthe survey, we found that there are more than70percent junior students take part in privatesupplementary tutoring, including79.3%7-garade students,86.1%8-grade students and45.1%9-grade students.48.9%of surveyed students receive supplementary tutoring of English subject,54.4%of Maths and45.6%of Chinese. There are41%students prefer to participate in tutoringclass, and8.8%students would like to take part in the tutoring classes hold by their teacher inschool, and below10%students have a tutor at home. Generally speaking,85%students think thatprivate supplementary tutoring is helpful for their study, and there are72.8%students holding apositive attitude.Supplementary tutoring has a series of impacts on students, families, schools and society. Thispaper analyzes the impacts and the causes of supplementary tutoring from the students, the parents,schools and society four aspects, meanwhile, put forward from the point of view of the suggestionsand countermeasures from the government, society, schools and families.This paper aims atregulating the development of private supplementary tutoring and making it develop harmoniouslywith school education.
