Higher engineering education is an important part of Higher education, not only bear teaching the knowledge of natural science, professional engineering knowledge to students, training their engineering logical thinking, engineering innovation and creativity, and training them become the society required senior engineering personnel, but also bears seeking the truth of science, human society progress for the benefit of the sacred mission. Improving the quality of higher engineering education is the core of improving the quality of higher engineering talents training, and promoting engineering talent training quality is the core of improving the teaching quality of engineering. Enhance the quality of the higher engineering education need to build the outstanding quality of the engineering teacher personnel as its basic guarantee.Firstly, this study make the research and analysis on the characteristics of engineering education and full-time engineering teacher occupation, this study consider that engineering teacher should possess the quality of engineering are:solid professional engineering knowledge base, excellent professional engineering ability structure and engineering education values.Secondly, this study carried out on the investigation of engineering college teachers by online issuing questionnaires, facing to professional engineering teacher, non-engineering teachers and efficient management personnel in engineering colleges and universities from25provinces and autonomous regions, based on survey data from580collected valid questionnaires, carry on the thorough analysis, aim at realize and analysis of the current situation of engineering teachers’engineering quality in China, in view of the existing problems in the future of engineering college teachers engineering training and upgrading their engineering quality, puts forward some feasible countermeasures and suggestions. The study find that:the influence of science teachers in engineering quality factor can be attributed two parts, the internal and external, internal part mainly include professional basic disciplines factor, engineering practice capability factor, individual value orientation of engineering teaching factor; external factors mainly include the policy orientation factor, professional education factor, working conditions. This study assimilate the process of the engineering quality training to the cultivation of a tree:professional engineering factors are the foundation, engineering professional education is the indispensable important external driving force for the cultivation and development of engineering teachers’engineering quality, policy guidance and working conditions are indirect influence and objective factors for engineering teachers’engineering quality, engineering teachers’personal value orientation are also important factor.Finally, this study based on the analysis and research of survey data find that, if we want to training and upgrading the engineering teachers’quality, we should make efforts from the following three aspects:construct the excellent engineer teacher personnel, improve engineering teacher management system and adjustment of policy.
