Geographical spatial ability is the core capability of geography,the training of it throughout the whole of senior high school geography teaching,it is meaningful that the geography teachers design geography class assignments depond to the teaching material contents for the sake of training of the students’ geographical spatial ability.This paper which starts from the training of geographical spatial ability,in the support of geography courses and teaching theories、the basic theories of geography、multiple intelligence theory etc.,by using research methods of the documentary research method、questionnaire investigation method and interview method,taking the example of 《Compulsory course Ⅰ》 by PEP,try to explore design the senior high school geography class assignments.This paper is divided into the following six parts:The first part:Introduction part.Discussing the background、significance、subject which were reviewed at home and abroad、the research direction and the characteristics and innovative points of the research.The second part:the definition of geographical spatial ability. Expoundsing the definition of geographical spatial ability and the constituent elements, elementarily analysising training requirements of home and abroad.The third part:the research of geography class assignments. Defining the connotation of geography class assignments and dividing the geography class assignments into four types:the type of reading and analyzing、the type of operating and practicing、the type of exploration and study、the type of collaborative discussion, and on that basis, mining the value of the of geography class assignments.The fourth part:Present study. Researching the present situation of training of spatial ability from geography class assignments by questionnaire investigation method,and expounding the present spatial ability of the high school students by the documentary research method, then at last, analying the technological study situation.The fifth part:Strategy research. This section is the main body part, On the basis of theoretical support, discussing the strategy of designing geography class assignments in order to train geographical spatial ability, the strategy which start form the four types of geography class assignment train the spatial ability from different angles. The sixth part:Conclusive Part. This study summarized the basic conclusion, analysed of the shortcomings of the existing research, looked into the prospect.
