Mr. Ye Shengtao is worthy of special attention to the characters, he creates a number of achievementsand makes a significant contribution in China’s modern literary history, education history, editing andpublishing history. As a writer and educator, Mr. Ye Shengtao insists that “The editorial work is education”and has edited and published a series of language teaching material for middle and primary school whichhas great influence under his guidance of “Teaching is aimed to achieve do not teach’’ and on the basis ofhis early20years of teaching practice. These materials receive consistent high praise by society after manyreprint, are rare treasures of language education and even the development history of language teachingmaterial in our country.In1915, Mr. Ye Shengtao was invited to edit primary language textbooks for the CommercialPress.It’s the beginning of his writing career of teaching materials. Since then to the "Cultural Revolution",Mr. Ye Shengtao has worked for the editing of language teaching materials more than40years. He hasserved as editor of the Commercial Press, enlightened bookstores and People’s Education Press, responsiblefor the editorial work of language teaching in primary and secondary schools. Mr. Ye Shengtao has edited alot on language during the40years, but because of the long time span, the data are many and scattered,which increases difficulty of the study.The rise of the academic study of Mr. Ye Shengtao languagetextbooks is in the1980s. In this paper, the author researching on Mr. Ye Shengtao’s editing and publishingof school textbooks from the angle of editorial and publishing professional, analysis and summary theediting thought of Chinese language Textbook, and make some inspiration for the editing of the currenthigh school textbooks.This paper Combines Mr. Ye Shengtao ’s middle school language teaching material to discuss thethoughts of China language Textbook.The editing practice life of Mr. Ye Shengtao can be divided intothree periods: The Commercial Press, Enlightened Bookstores and People’s Education Press. The researchon Mr. Ye Shengtao’s school textbooks editorial thoughts can be discussed from the editor purpose,audience, standards of the selected articles, editorial policy and other aspects. Every bean have its black.Although Mr. Ye Shengtao is a generation of writers, due to historical and other reasons, his editorial thinking inevitably had some small flaws in areas such as essay content, Graphic Design, unit combinationsand so on. The defects cannot obscure the virtues. From the edition thought of Mr. Ye Shengtao,we canlearn his serious, meticulous spirit of responsibility. Through the formation of a high standard of teachingmaterial editing team and attention to materials, we can write a more high-quality, strict requirements,scientific high school textbooks.
