Abstract/Summary:
2001promulgated the full-time compulsory education mathematics curriculumstandards (trial version) stated that students can develop their statistical concepts fromusing data to make the inference process through the compulsory education stage.2011promulgated the compulsory education mathematics curriculum standards (2011version) modified the statistical concept for data analysis concept, highlighting thecentral position of the data as Statistics and Probability. Learning Statistics andProbability as important goal is to develop students’ concept of data analysis.As the domestic and external experts and scholars emphasis on the content ofStatistics and Probability, the study on the concept of data analysis has emerged. Butthe literature number is relatively not a lot of.Foreign scholars’ studies are mainlybased on the cognitive development framework and the existence of misconceptionsof Statistics and Probability. Researchers in the country study Statistics andProbability for the basic concepts of research, a specific ingredient such as statistics,charts or tables, mean, standard deviation. The level of the junior high schoolstudents’ data analysis concepts is lack. It is of great significance for a comprehensiveand systematic study for examining the level of junior high school students’ dataanalysis concepts.The topic of the paper is the concept of data analysis development level of juniorhigh school students Investigation and Study.First of all; we analyze the connotationand composition of the data analysis concepts by the qualitative research methods,and examine curriculum standards for the concept of data analysis development levelof junior high school students. Then we design the test volume for examining thecharacteristics and level of the data analysis concept for junior high school students.Secondly, we carry out a questionnaire test for nearly200ninth-grade students offour different schools selected as the object of study. We analyze students’ answers ontest questions using SOLO taxonomy, which come to general framework andcharacteristics of the concepts of the junior high school students.In general, the data analysis concepts of Junior high school students at the Ulevel. The study found that the collection of data and therelationship on statistics and probability understanding basically at the same level ofdevelopment,collating the data and describing the basic data and analysis of data atthe same level of development.Study on the characteristics of the development of data analysis conceptsexamines two aspects. First, the level of development of data analysis concepts interms of gender differences; Second, the level of development of data analysisconcepts in school geographical differences. Some of the issues involved in this studyhave yet to be further thought and study space. At the same time, the expand studybased on this study will be very meaningful.I hope that related research can be the basis and foundation on the teaching ofStatistics and Probability.
