As an important part of the urban children’s lives, It will affect the development of the children’s physical and mental health that whether their leisure life matches with the low of their development. The subject of the investigation is the burgeoning municipality in last decade—C city, the main methods used in the research contains questionnaires, interview, and observation and so on. From urban children’s leisure time, leisure activities, place of leisure, leisure companion and satisfaction of the leisure, we will have a thorough, systematically and in—depth research.The results indicate that urban children have the possibility to choose a wide range of leisure activities, but actually, the content of their leisure activities shows uniformity in the real operations, recreational activity is the most popular and favorite activity for children; Parents pay much attention to the children’s knowledge and skill achievement, that because of the rush of city life, they start to push the pressure on children, let the preschool children study as well as school—age children, but without any scientific and effective instruction; the children are eager to interact with other children in different ages, but due to nuclear family, there are less opportunities to join activities with other people outside of family; There are broad grassland in the residential and the playground, the overall environment are clean and comfortable, but the facilities are unsuitable for children, even if there is children’s playground, its fees are high, and its facilities are automatic, lack of supporting service.From the point to improve the quality of leisure life, the author analyses the current situations and problems of urban children’s leisure life and puts forward the homologous countermeasures: Parents should enrich the content of children’s leisure activities, attract them to outdoors through diversification; Parents should create various opportunities for children and let them to play with others of all ages, in such way, children could learn together during the mutual communication and it is good for their social characterize development, we appeal the society to provide a variety of resources for the children’s leisure life, ensure the safety of children’s activity, increase the quantity of equipment which can be used by children; Strengthen the parental leisure education, that would help parents to build a nice atmosphere of culture and guide parents to be actively involved in significant leisure activities; Strengthening children’s leisure education, we should provide scientific guidance for children’s leisure life, provide the stage where children could share their learning from their leisure life.As long as families, kindergarten and community make effort together, a better leisure life could children have.
