Higher Education, in the era of knowledge-based economy, is referred not only to theAcademic Education, but to the Innovative Education and Enterprise Education. Carrying outEnterprise Education in local universities, is required by the situation of Higher Education andsocial development in China, and is the inevitable choice to meet the needs of knowledge-basedeconomy. Investigating Enterprise Education in local universities throughout the whole processof student training, can not only enhance students’entrepreneurial literacy, but promoteEnterprise Education reform in local universities, and achieve the coupling and linkage betweenlocal universities and regional economy as well.In the beginning of the introductory section, the historical, social and realistic backgroundof studying Enterprise Education in local universities are analyzed, the theoretical and practicalvalue of which are then described. Meanwhile, numbers of domestic and foreign achievementson entrepreneurship and Enterprise Education domestic are systematically combined. The statusof Enterprise Education at home and abroad is summarized from four aspects, on which briefcomments are made.The first chapter is about the commentary on Enterprise Education in local universities,including the definition of core concepts, the main features of local universities and theimportance of carrying out Enterprise Education in local universities.In the second chapter, several local universities in Shandong Province are selected as thescope of the investigation, students and entrepreneurial instructors in local universities are alsoselected as the objects of the survey, in order to study the status of Enterprise Education in localuniversities, with the method of questionnaire and interview survey. And then based on the status,the problems of Enterprise Education in local universities are listed as follows: the theoreticalstudy on Enterprise Education is not carried out in depth; students there are lack ofentrepreneurial enthusiasm; no clear training objects are identified in Enterprise Education;entrepreneurial instructors are not so professional; Enterprise Education curriculum is notsystematic; practical guidance is not in place. After then, in-depth analysis on both internal andexternal factors of these issues are conducted. To solve the above problems, in Chapter III, countermeasures learning from the advancedinitiatives of investigated universities mentioned above are proposed: developing the research onEnterprise Education to enhance the emphasis; making the training object of EnterpriseEducation clear to implement stratified education; strengthening teachers’professionaldevelopment to improve the quality of Enterprise Education; deeply carrying out curriculumreform to enrich the content of Enterprise Education courses; building a practical platform withhigh qualities for deep practical guidance of Enterprise Education; strengthening thecollaboration among government, enterprise, universities, research institutions, financialinstitutions, and intermediaries to set up a new supporting platform for students’entrepreneurialactivity.Enterprise Education is the needs of the community and the call of the times, in-depth studyof Enterprise Education in local universities is the sacred duty entrusted by our history and socialreality. With a high sense of mission and responsibility, we must engage in the research andpractice of Enterprise Education in local universities.
